I’m not sure what the tax evasion thing is all about. I don’t think they

Made the donation looking for a deduction. They were just trying to get their kid in the school of their choice. I suspect the charity set up was more about the receiver who was manipulating the tax code some how. My question about that would be who in the IRS let the charity get charitable status & why?
